The Universe Is Yours: Kundalini Wisdom for Women
"See your power as a woman. Twist the heavens and squeeze them into the self. Then the whole universe will be yours." – Yogi Bhajan (See Your Power as a Woman, July 8, 1985)
When Yogi Bhajan spoke about women, he spoke in absolutes, in the language of Infinity. In his view, a woman is not defined by roles, titles, or the expectations of the world around her. She is defined by her consciousness, by her ability to live from her vastness, even while standing in the middle of the challenges.
In the teachings of Kundalini Yoga, the woman is the embodiment of Adi Shakti, the primal creative power from which all life emerges. This power is not based on dominance or control; it is about a women's capacity to hold, nurture, transform, and uplift.
Yogi Bhajan often spoke about the arc line, an energetic halo that extends from ear to ear across the brow, and for women, a second arc line from nipple to nipple. He called it a woman’s “crown jewel,” her electromagnetic shield and her inner compass. When a woman’s arc line is strong and clear, she is radiant. Her decisions carry weight and her presence becomes a sanctuary for herSelf and those around her. When it is clouded, it reflects self-doubt, over-giving, or the constant noise of the world and she forgets her own worth.
Kundalini Yoga strengthens the arc line through breath, mantra, and meditation and the most radical experience can be to remember that you are already enough, already powerful, already whole. Yogi Bhajan taught that the greatest tragedy for a woman is to forget who she is and the greatest victory is to return to that remembrance and live from it unapologetically.
This is where our practice becomes more than movement or breath. It becomes an act of reclamation. Every time we sit with a straight spine and an open heart, we are calling back the parts of ourselves we have given away. The parts that are often reflected as pressures for women to prove themselves at home, work and within society.
Every time we chant, we are tuning the frequency of our being back to the Infinite.
Have you ever noticed that when a woman understands and knows her worth, she doesn’t have to say much? People feel her before she speaks. This is the essence of her radiance — it’s undeniable. Yogi Bhajan often reminded women: “Your presence should be such that even if you say nothing, people feel blessed by being near you.” This radiance isn’t for show; it’s for service. It uplifts everyone it touches — not by effort, but by the simple fact of being.
When we, we do so to hold steady within it. We breathe deeply and we chant because the vibration of sacred sound cuts through the static of doubt and fear, leaving only the clarity of who we really are. Some days, that practice will be a powerful that leaves you glowing and unstoppable. Other days, it might be one mantra on repeat, whispered through tears. Both are sacred and both are enough.
To live as a woman in the fullness Yogi Bhajan described is about alignment and standing in the truth of “I am infinite. I am powerful. I am a woman.” It means honouring your boundaries, saying no, and yes when your Soul feels the call. It means letting your presence be a blessing in your family, your community, and to yourself. And most importantly, it means knowing that you are not here to fit in. You are here to elevate.
So today, take a moment to sit in stillness. Place one hand on your heart and one on your navel. Close your eyes. Feel your breath move through you like a tide, steady and infinite. And repeat silently or aloud: “I am infinite. I am powerful. I am a woman.” Let it sink into all 80 trillion cells of your body. Let it light up your arc line. Let it remind you that no matter what the world says, your worth is not up for negotiation. Because you in your strength, your softness, your radiance are holding the universe in your heart and you are a lighthouse!
